Showcase & Trophy Cabinet

This page houses the Pokémon in my collection that I treasure the most and hold closest to my heart. Nothing here is For Trade, this page exists purely so that I can show them off. They are listed below in Pokédex order. To view my collection of cherished Pokémon that I have obtained from other people, see my Hidden Grotto.

#0012 - Kuranda

"The Triumphant"
Butterfree | F
Lego | 1390 | XD

Kuranda is my first ever truly "complete" ribbon master with all 85 ribbons, including the National Ribbon from Colosseum/XD. While Butterfree might seem like an unusual choice for a Ribbon Master, I've had a soft spot for the Compound Eyes Sleep Powder–spamming butterflies ever since cant say sent me a Gen 6 team featuring River-pattern Vivillon that we both used with great success. He used another team featuring Vivillon to get out of a slump and in to a high ladder position during Gen 7, and when Vivillon fell victim to Dexit in Gen 8, he instead decided to build a team around Butterfree. I took to this team like a duck to water, and have used it or a variation of it every series since. As such, I decided to RNG and fully Ribbon Kuranda to pay homage to the oft-overlooked early game bugs that have triumphed over so many opponents across the last 3 generations.

The nickname Kuranda is a personal reference to a small town in Far North Queensland, Australia, nestled amongst tropical rainforest. It is home to a butterfly sanctuary that I was lucky enough to visit on a childhood holiday back in 2004 after seeing it on a travel television show. This Ribbon Master wouldn't have been possible without the help of Skadiv in Gen 4 and Gen 8, thank you for your assistance!

#0113 - Bootleg Shay

Lucky Pokémon

Bootleg Shaymin was caught as a very lucky wild encounter during the 2021 "Spring into Spring" event, while hunting for Shiny Flower Crown Eevee. She is so named because in efforts to be more like the small cabbage we all know and love, she is round, green, and wears pink flowers on her head. I like to imagine that sometimes she replaces the egg in her pouch with a little Shaymin plushie and carries it around with her, too.

She was Lucky Traded to me, where she has since earned the Best Buddy ribbon and makes a great adventuring partner. By some freak luck, her IVs allow her to reach exactly 1390CP at Lv. 50, the maximum level for Pokémon in GO. Because she has a cute flower hat she is stuck in Pokémon GO forever but I wouldn't have it any other way.

#0361 - moodE

"The Treasured Memory"
Snorunt | F |
LegoFig | 21059 | E
31 | 31 | 31 | 31 | 31 | 31

This Snorunt is my proudest ever Retail RNG, a flawless shiny breed abused on my Emerald cart in 2016 while I was at school, with my GBA hidden in my backpack. I chose Naive nature because I wanted to use the recently-released Mega Glalie with Double-Edge and Freeze Dry, and bred in Emerald because Double-Edge was only available as a Gen 3 tutor.

She's named after my Discord bot, moodE, who originated as a bot for the Battle Spot room on Pokémon Showdown! which was named by cant say and NOVED — a corruption of Glalie's Ability Moody (with which it was extremely dominant in BSS at the time), and the suffix –E, a customary ending to the name of many PS! bots at the time.

She has grown up through the years just as my bot has, and was the first ever Ribbon Master that I completed with a little help from Skadiv in Gen 8. Fortunately, thanks to the Ability Patch, she can finally have the ability Moody and fulfill her destiny!

While she has all of the ribbons at Lv. 5, there is also a Lv. 100 fully BR evolved version of her with the Battle Ready mark and the Master Ball-tier Ribbon from Gen 8.

#0374 - AAAA

"The Exciting Memory"
Beldum |
Lego | 1390 | S
1 | 3 | 9 | 0 | 1 | 1

Oh boy, this Beldum... a ridiculous idea for a RS Egg RNG, my aim for this Pokémon was to get something that was uniquely me, and what better candidate for such a project than Beldum? I realised that "Lego" could be represented by the number 1390, and my mission became clear – I had to fill as many of this things internals with that number as possible.

That resulted in it ending up with both a TID and SID of 1390, a PID of 13901390, and the IVs listed above, hatched in Meteor Falls for style points. Normally, this wouldn't pose too much of an issue, except that VBA isn't completely accurate when it comes to RS/FRLG Breeding, making an extra RNG call in the middle of the second half of the generation which results in a strange mix between the normal and split method that at the time no tool supported searching for. Cue several days of pain and suffering as I try to figure out what is happening and why it's going wrong, before eventually writing my own script to try and generate the spread, only for it to return no results after about 10 hours of searching.

Eventually, I gave up on VBA and decided to try BizHawk instead, where I got it on the second attempt thanks to the lack of the extra RNG call. My calibration attempt on BizHawk resulted in a Beldum with the PID AAAA1390, and seeing how well that described what I was feeling having finally hit my target, I decided to name this Beldum "AAAAAAAAAA". Once I heard them shrieking in my boxes, I decided to revise it down to just "AAAA" so as not to disturb my other Pokémon too much.

This Beldum is still Lv. 5 and is fully Ribbon Mastered (despite how difficult the contests are with such a heavily restricted movepool) with thanks to Skadiv for helping out with Gen 8 as well as putting up with my complaining during every stage of both RNGing and ribboning this Beldum.

#0382 - Kylie

"The Former Idol"
Kyogre |
Lego | 1390 | S
31 | 0 | 31 | 31 | 31 | 31

Named after the famous Australian singer-songwriter, Kylie Minogre was an insane Ribbon Master project that I decided to undertake only a few days before boxart Legends got re-banned from SwSh online ranked battles. Everything about this big pink fish was a mad rush, from the Sapphire playthrough to catch it in the first place to the Gen 3 and 4 contests. Most of her journey through the early gens was streamed to the Smogon Wi-Fi discord server at the fastest speed my computer could handle.

Fortunately everything went without a hitch, and I was able to get the Master Rank ribbon on her on the final day of the season. After that I was feeling a bit burnt out so I took my time with the rest of the Gen 8 ribbons, but thanks to a little help from Skadiv she's now complete! She's available Lv. 45 "untouched" (well, as untouched as a Ribbon Master can be...), but I'll most likely train a BR copy for use on my Tower team. Should GameFreak ever bring back Primals, she absolutely will not be allowed to undergo Primal Reversion though because Primal Kyogre's purple fingies are a sin.

#0385 - Antares

"The Shining Star"
Jirachi |
CHANNEL | 40122 | S
27 | 28 | 24 | 28 | 31 | 24

Jirachi has been one of my favourite Pokémon ever since I discovered it in the back of a PRIMA guide in 2005, where its stats and movepool were blanked out because it was so mysterious. Since then I've managed to get my hands on a few from events in my childhood and even RNG'd a shiny WISHMKR one, but with Channel being the "final frontier" of my GameCube RNG experience and the availability of far better shiny spreads (including Star Shiny, usually locked out by the Fateful Encounter flag), it only seemed fitting to get one from there as well.

Antares is one half of a pair of CHANNEL Jirachi, his sister being a non-shiny 6IV named "Alcyone" gifted to kasib. Both are named after stars (with thanks to kasib for inspiration) and are full Ribbon Masters as on Gen 8. This would not have been possible without the help of pilica12 with the Gen 4 Contest Ribbons and Max. Optimizer for renaming Antares from Betelgeuse in Gen 7 after I changed my mind and wanted him named after a bigger, redder star.

#0830 - Onion

"The Joyful"
Eldegoss | M |
Lego | 073145 | Sh
25 | 28 | 7 | 12 | 1 | 0

I fell in love with Eldegoss the moment I saw it revealed, and after a close friend sent me some art of it done up as Miror B. from the Orre games I quickly adopted it as my mascot and just knew I had to have one. But not just any old Eldegoss would do, no, it had to be special – so I decided to hunt for a shiny with a specific personality mark using the one-time encounter on the Route 5 bridge. After 21 revisions of a bot written by Anubis and 227,967 encounters over the span of several months, the perfect Eldegoss finally showed up and bonked me on the head!

His nickname is born of me changing my name to "Mother Onion" in response to a meme posted in the Smogon Wi-Fi discord server, and because I was using the Miror B. Eldegoss as my profile picture we quickly concluded that Eldegoss was not in fact cotton but rather an onion. The name stuck, and the rest is history! Onion has all the available ribbons as of Gen 8, and sees use on my BSS team alongside Kuranda thanks to cant say's teambuilding genius.
